Edith's Story
Edith is the Director of Ministries for the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination. She serves as principal executive officer of the Ministry Council; as spokesperson for the Council in interpreting its actions; and is liaison with all entities of the General Assembly. Among her duties are to assist the Council in short- and long-term planning and in identifying the vision for the ministry of the Church. Prior to accepting the call to this position, Edith was the Regional Vice President for Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Memphis, a manufacturing operation that provides job training and placement for individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

She earned her B.A. cum laude in Theatre/Communications from Queens College, now Queens University of Charlotte (NC) and has completed graduate work at University of Memphis and University of Oklahoma.
Throughout her career, Edith has received numerous awards and commendations, including the Department of the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service. Edith is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Memphis. In 2006, she was named one of Memphis Woman magazine's 50 Women Who Make A Difference. In 2004, Edith was recognized by the Tennessee Recycling Coalition as the state's Individual Recycler of the Year.
Some of Edith's memberships have included: Center for Nonprofit Management, Crescent Club, Downtown Rotary Club, eWomenNetwork, TN Pollution Prevention Partnership and Phi Mu Fraternity. Edith volunteers in myriad church, school and community activities.
Edith is writing her first novel.
