recently retired and loving it! my wife and I went to Germany to visit our oldest son and family early this year.I spent my time at home or visiting our other home in Killeen,Tx.Our younger son is staying there while on his 3rd deployment to Iraq.Both our sons are our heroes;they both have been to war and experienced the tragedy of it.No regrets from either.As through experience during 2 tours in "nam";It is a great sacrifice but someones got to do it and our family has never wavered to serve.continually on the go.My wife and I are comfortable in church as we are at a resort;oron aflight to places never explored or nitpicking at a flea market.Got to live life one day at a time. Late August 2014; still toiling in the " Hill country" and haven't been to the Valley but once this year even though we still have a home there ,I guess it has just changed too much for comfort and it is just too beautiful up here. There still a whole lot of places to visit especially small communities with interesting places to see. We do miss " el pan dulce"; Los taquitos Rico's and of course las botanas from Zamora's restaurant in McAllen. There are some traditional Tex-Mex places around here but the...Expand for more
