Edna's Story
Life
It has been 37 years and it is time to tell my story. I left Sam Houston with great pride for the education and the school and a love for the friendships I had made there. Eastwood Village was a great place to grow up. Too bad it still isn't!
From Sam Houston, I went to Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX and was a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes for two years. It was a fantastic experience for me and one that I am very proud of and cherish.
Tommy Hodges and I married in 1970 and soon thereafter he joined the Air Force and we moved away from Texas and did not return until 1991. wife and mother of two children, Kevin and Kimberlee.
Upon returning to Texas in 1991, I worked as a Sales Administrator and Office Manager for a software company, Synopsys, for 8 plus years. All the while Tommy retired from the USAF and my children completed college. Now, Tommy is a captain for Southwest Airlines and I work part-time and travel with Tommy part-time.
We live in Georgetown, Texas and have been here for 10 years. I think we will be here awhile longer as this is now home. Our children live in and work in Austin but no grandchildren yet. We have been blessed and love our life and the majic we have made together.
Tommy and I are both graduates of Sam Houston and would love to hear from any of you interested in keeping in touch with other Cherokees.
