Edward's Story

As we approach our 40th reunion here is a verse for those classmates that stop by.. Travels Through Time The Lady comes to mind through the eye, which first noticing a feminine gentleness, follows her through a travel in time. She will go from her place in life to appear as a young lady, who in the enthusiasm of youth casts the light of her spirit all about. To the middle years, remarked by the glow springing from strong confidence of her life. Past the later years where a quiet beauty long practiced is revealed in her every graceful move. Coming at last to the final stage, most telling of all when only her eyes are needed to reflect back all of life's beauty to her love. Well served is the gentleman whose eyes see all at once or none at all. ejb 10/17/98 Life Life, doing it. Work only when the money runs out then back to the grind for another year then take 6 months off. I write stories, poetry and essay's on any topic that comes to mind. Usually the smile on a lady's face, the happiness in a child's play or the wind under a hawk's wings. Took an 8 month driving vacation from Tucson AZ back home a couple of years ago. Did it in a 64 Triumph TR4 I rebuilt and never touched the highway. Back road all the way. Got to see the school house Laura Ingels taught in. The future birthplace of Capt James T. Kirk the BlueBird Bus Factory, the John Deer Tractor Factory and some very pretty landscape. Put my feet in all 5 Great Lakes and caught the spray from Niagra Falls. I've been married twice but found out they weren't my friends. Last time was over 15 years ago. Not looking for the next time but not opposed to it either. Tried to trace down two of our classmates a year after our last reunion. Couldn't find them. Didn't try hard enough. I've been a Chef (Boston Magazine 1978), managed a car dealership, Basic Training Drill Instructor, Retail Manager and Private Investigator. Owned some rental property and lost a fortune or two. I collected wine until my contact left (Consumed it all over the past ten years) and have the largest private collection of the works of D.A. Black. (Gave him some business advice early on. The works went from $100 for a 16X24 up to $2500+) They hang in my sisters house up in New England. (Google Black Photography) Still driving the red Volvo 1800 I took to the 20th reunioin. Along with the car my most prized possessions are the journals, the flash drive that has my manuscripts and an old teddy bear some friends gave me in 1978. As I already said I was a drill sargent, but I've also been a hippy since then. Long hair, long ...Expand for more
beard and a live and let live attitude. Only have one enemy in the world that I know of. The ex-husband of a woman who wants to marry me. Friends, quite a few for a guy that tests out as an introvert. Learned the meaning of friendship through some one long ago. "Friendship begins when one person sacrafices their self interest for anothers advantage. It is measured by how great the loss compares to how little is gained. Friendship ends when great need is forsaken for little inconvenience." ejb Well there is probably to much information in this thing for those of you who chose to be gold members inorder to read this drivel. Looking forward to seeing a few of you specifically. Almost all of you generally. Life has been good. What part of the Q&A here did I lie about? Workplace The jobs have varied over a wide area of fields. As the bio says everything from chef (Boston Magazine June 78) to PI. The one most proud of is being a drill sergeant. Not something everyone gets to do. Had to wrap my brain around a really different life style but managed to pull it off without compromising values. The worst part of the gig was having to leave the military inorder to get out of doing it another year. After that it was working as an investigator for the criminal defense attorneys. Lately it's been going into other's retail business and getting the people already in place to work like they want to. Team Building and training is probably my specialilty now. The pay is nice and that's all that matters I guess. Do you have a business that's not performing up to spec's-? Over all attitude toward work, it's nice when you can avoid it. Military Ten years in the Air Force. Friends told me I needed more structure in my life. Did duty as staff admin working for Marines at Hanscom AFB there in Mass. Basic Training Instructor i.e. Drill Sergeant, for three years down in San Antonio. A very interesting mind set involved in that little gig. DON’T let any of your military minded off-spring get into that field. Three out of four instructors are fired (read demoted, punished or tried in a court of law) and ruin their careers. Last duty was as a Legal Specialist doing the admin and investigative work for defense counsel. All told seven out of ten years was spent throwing people out of the military. Almost got tried in a court martial on a technical issue in retaliation for exposing a few corrupt officers. Some one tipped me off to the plans and I didn’t show up for the reenlistment escaping yet again. Glad to say I'm much better now. Got all the structure and discipline out of my system.
