Life
Thanks to Wilbert Perkins that I have this opportunity!! Hey!! Most of you may have seen me back in the day on Soul Train!! LOL! Show biz bug had me all the time. Worked with Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Aretha Franklin, Eddie Kendricks,Chaka,Prince, and many other artist. Toured US, Japan, China,even lived in Sydney for a year! Been a lot of places and so on...I've been living in Austria for 21 years now. I'm an entertainer! I sing!! LOL!! I've read so many names, and so many faces flew before my eyes. I've thought of so many of you. And wondered who survived this far. Its a great pleasure to think "somebody that knew me as a teenager is going to read this". I welcome any and all of you back into my life. I don't have the chance to run into you on the streets unless I'm on holidays. I will come to LA this year. Not sure if its March/April or summer. I ain't got nothing! My dog died! Mister Bojangles uh? I do many concerts, commercials,special guest appearences with several big bands,and other projects. I'm the same old Eddie! OH! Many of you didn't know that I used my Grandmothers maiden name as my last name. I'm actually Champion Cole! I guess thats all for now. I'm gonna become a memeber so I can read all of your information. I saw Michael Zwicks name here! We went to kindergarten together!! Ha!! Richetta Jones was I think my biggest crush. I was so interested in her and her family. Actually our mothers went to high school together! And I thought that was soooo cool. Even though as adults our parents weren't really friends. She reminded me of my mom! Cute little body, dressed well, and well mannered. Very well raised! My favorite teacher had to be Mrs. Smith and whoever taught the Choir. Mrs.Dorthy Smith stopped me from biting my finger nails! Gave me opportunity to perform on stage, and play cello! o skills I use every time I get on the stage. A memorable time was singing in trio with Ronald Clark, and Joel Lee "I'm A Girl Watcher" at one of our senior class thingys! Emily Mayes said she liked it. Her brother was older, and he could SANG!!! And that was a huge compliment that she said that. Another funny crazy thing was when I was suspended for insighting a riot!!! LOL!! The student were annoyed at the lunch provided, and we couldn't eat with the girls at lunch. I walked near the gate talking to the girls who were forming a crowd. As I walked back towards the boys side. The girls followed me..Just came behind me. It looked like I was supporting the walk out! Also that same week I think we chanted in the halls "we want soul food! We don't want no dog food"!! LOL!!! I was very happy when Mrs. Smith told my mother I was a gifted Cellist. And my abilities were above average. I would change it all, and be more focused. I didn't have a goal, I just lived my life. If I would've known I was going to be in show biz. I would've really worked harder. And obtained more information about music, dance, and theater. But......I'm happy where I am. I have no regrets.
Workplace
Yeah!! Before all the Soul Train, and touring I tried to be independent. I was a paper boy for about 3 days!! LOL!! My parents just knew I would get hit by a car! Or snatched! I worked at a record shop on the weekends though. That was cool!! The man was mean!!! But, I kept the place jumpin! Friends would visit me when he wasn't there. I'd blast the speakers and we'd sing every song I played! I was a carpenter apprentice for about a week. Until I discovered I was afraid of heights! And that was big money!!! I couldn't hammer either! Couldn't remember the names of the wood! LOL! Climbed on top of a site.....they almost had to call the fire department to get me down!! Was I ashame? YES!!!!!!
Now today! I'm happpy with Classmantes.....I've been able to hear from and see pics of some very old and dear friends. Its amazing.......
