Edward's Story

2023 - Well it is almost Thanksgiving and the year went by so quickly. They say the days go by slowly and the years go by quickly. I am 67 now. Social Security became a reality in February. I definitely lost another step and am moving slower. Still working but pacing myself. Biz Charter & Corporate aviation is going like a flame thrower and the inspections keep coming hot and heavy. So staying busy. Went out boating one time this year and got towed back. Replacing the exhaust Risers and appendages. Found some other issues and will repair everything back to new. It's still in the water. Maybe I can squeeze out one warm weekend before taking it out of the water. Bought it new in 2004 (Maxum 2400SC 5.7L MPI Magnum with Bravo 3) and it has treated me pretty well overall. Retirement is now looking like a pretty good idea. People comment that I look young but I am high mileage. The floor keeps getting further away every time I bend over to pick something up. You know you are getting old when you bend over to tie your shoe laces and you wonder if there is anything else you can do while you are down there. LOL Upgraded some things on 2007 Dodge Chargers. They are running sweet. Love the new Continental tires. Put a new set of "Extreme Contact" tires on the 5.7L Charger. Love them. Also put a set of "Terrain Contact" tires on both my Honda Odyssey work van and Peg's Jeep Cherokee Summit. They look like "Off Road" tires but are very quiet. Handling in the rain is superior. No snow of consequence yet to compare performance. Can't believe the s*#t show we are watching now.. The Libtards are pretty quiet these days. Looking forward a Stock Market crash, Martial law, Military Tribunals and Trump's return before the 2024 election. The military is the only way out. Those in the know, will know what I am talking about. Get out your popcorn and enjoy the show. Looking forward to my annual Christmas eve party. God Bless America and may God Bless Us All!!! Hope to see everyone on the flip side. 2022 - Turned 66 this year. Expecting my first SS check in February '23. Got the covid a week before Christmas 2021. A day or 2 of rest, the sniffles and back i...Expand for more
n the game. No smell for 2 weeks. It was kind of nice. No shots, No Boosters and No mask whenever possible. Did not participate in the madness. Did a total reno of the house. Rebuilt the upper deck. All cedar deck boards. Love the smell and look of cedar. Removed the wooden ballisters and installed glass around the deck. Replaced the wooden steps. Added a dock platform and aluminum ramp. No more ladders for the kid. Totally resided the house. Looks like I'm staying for the long haul unless NY really goes to hell in a hand basket. Still love Long Island. Hope the Red Wave continues and sanity returns. Time for the Libtards to go and right the ship. The experiment is over. Go Zeldin, Rhoades, D'Esposito, Koll, Brian Curran, etc. Most of all, Go Trump 2024. You have to admit one thing, Trump pulled everyone's pants down. We know who all the Libtards are now. Liberalism is a mental disorder. God help us and God Bless America. 2021 - Still on this side of the grass. Who would have thunk? Just turned 65 and got my Medicare ID card. Clean and sober 37 years. However, the body is presenting its bill. Diabetes and a couple of stents later and still working. Have had my own business for 27 years. Still love what I do inspecting aircraft. Probably won't retire. They will probably find me on a maintenance stand slumped over a fuselage or under a wing when that time comes. Trying to pass the torch to the younger generation. Losing the cranky old man battle. Things are just too weird the last couple of years. Keep trying to fight the good fight but I'm getting tired. Trying to be grateful for all my blessings. Love playing with the twins (my 2007 Dodge Chargers). Spending a lot of time these days keeping up with the house repairs. Peg and I just keep on cruising along. She is my rock. That is my story for now. Trudging along the road to happy destiny. 2002 - Trying to play by the rules and enjoying life. When you like what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. Looks like I found my corner of heaven, here on the water in Freeport, with my wife Peg. She keeps me in balance and makes it complete. Who's got it better than me?
