Edward's Story

After High School, I served a mission to the Korea, Pusan Mission. I entered BYU after returning and majored in Electronics Engineering with a minor in Korean. I married an Orem girl in June of 1980 and started working full time for Signetics in 1982. It took me until 1988 to finish of my BSEET degree with Signetics paying the school bills. We had 5 children and were comfortably situated in a nice home in Orem when Signetics decided to close the Orem plant in 1992. Signetics moved my family to Albuquerque, NM where we added two more children to the family and Signetics changed the company name to Philips Electronics, which was the name of our pare...Expand for more
nt company Philips since 1980. We had many great adventures in the "Land of Enchantment" and loved living in Albuquerque. In 2003, Philips decided to uproot my family again by closing the Albuquerque plant and moving us to Tempe Arizona where we now live in neighboring Chandler. I have four beautiful grandaughters from my two oldest and another on the way from my thrird oldest. Our fifth oldest will be married off soon and is attending Northern Arizona University at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. There are two others attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Our youngest daughter is in 10th grade at Hamilton High School here in Chandler.
