Well, my dad got transferred to Anchorage Alaska in late 1966, so I would have been a junior. I started school at East Anchorage High School in, I think, November. I remember a very cold winter ( 50 degrees below freezing at times!) I graduated in 1967, and went to work at a few different jobs. In May of 1968 I enlisted in the Army. I took Basic training at Ft. Lewis, Washington in May & June, then went to Military Police School at Ft. Gordon, Georgia in July & August. After MP school, I was sent to Viet Nam, where I was until September of 1969. I was transferred to Ft. Meade in Maryland. While stationed at Ft. Meade, I met my first wife. I reenlisted for 6 years, got married in May and was sent to Germany in May of 1970. I spent 39 months in Frankfurt, learned to speak German like a Frankfurt native and got separated from my wife. She returned to the States before I did. I left Germany in August of 1973, and was sent to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in northern Maryland. I was there until February of 1975. During that t...Expand for more
