Edwin's Story

Joined the United States Marine Corps after graduation. I was with the Marine Detachment on USS Kitty Hawk when JFK came aboard one week before his assassination. I look back and think that I saw JFK one week before his assassination, a time that has lived with me . Got lead poisoning in Vietnam with the 1st MarDiv. Came home after my tour and spent the last 50 years working in the oilfields throughout California. Working days in Bakersfield, Taft, Lost Hills, Belr...Expand for more
idge, Coalinga, Kettleman, San Ardo, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Yorba Linda, Brea, Signal Hill, Long Beach, Huntington Beach with only PCH separating us from the ocean and Ventura. Still live in Bakersfield but go to our boat in Long Beach Shoreline Marina to get out of the valley heat and enjoy good weather and the area. Seal Beach reminds me of how old Avila Beach used to be, kind of the nice little beach town you like to visit. Also have my CCW for protection.
