Edwina's Story
I went to Lowell Elementary School in Harvey, IL; Lowell-Longfellow in Harvey, IL; and started high school at Thornton Township. I was re-zoned to Thornridge High School in my Junior year and graduated a year early in the summer of 1972, so I didn't get to graduate with so many friends from grade school and junior high who stayed at Thornton.
From high school I went on to college - Mary Baldwin in Staunton, VA for my freshman year. Had a blast! Mom and Dad weren't impressed with my academic accomplishments, so they brought me back to Dolton. I then went to Thornton Community Colle...Expand for more
ge (now South Surburban) and Northwestern University. I still hadn't finished my degree when I moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 1981.
Baton Rouge was good to me - I met and married my husband, Chris, and we've been married 25 years. I have a step-daughter, and Chris and I have three daughters. We have four grandchildren!
We moved to the Nashville area in 1985 and have been here ever since. We build new homes as McLeod Custom Builders and also own Armco Electric & Construction.
I am finally trying to finish my degree. Homebuilders aren't very busy these days, and I have to stay busy!
