Edwina's Story
Hi Class of '63,
It has been a good many years since we walked across that stage at NHS.
I graduated from Longwood College in 1966 with a BA in secondary education with a major in English and a minor in French.
I met Julian, a farmboy from the Farmville, VA, area and married him in October of 1966. I taught that year in Lynchburg at Dunbar Junior High. Cities schools were not for me.
In the fall of 1967, I stated teaching English and French at Appomattox High School and Carver-Price High School. Forty-one years later, just this June, 2008, I retired.
Julian and I were never blessed with any children, but we have a lot to keep us busy on the farm with our cats, dogs, chickens, pea fowl, guineas, and beef cattle.

Society and the Prospect Historical Society. We have also been very involved on the committee putting together the Prince Edward County Heritage Book, which is due out in November.
We live on the Covington farm family farm, of four generations. We used to be dark-fired and burley tobacco farmers until the infamous federal tobacco buy-out of 2004. We then wrote and self-published Tobacco Rows in Prince Edward County, a book about the history of the tobacco industry in this area and a step by step lesson in how to raise the 13-month crop.
Check out our website by doing a search for Sleepy Hollow Acres Prospect. Browse through the many pictures links that I have posted.
We both like to take pictures and I like to design websites.
Love to hear from all of you.
