Eileen's Story
Wow. Forty years ... seems like it's gone so fast. Here's a short update on my comings/goings since 1969.
Went to San Jose State University, exited with BA degree in journalism. The job hunting/acquisition journey led me to numerous opportunities: wire service reporter, staff for State Assembly Democrats, staff for California wine industry trade group, field representative for a state assemblyman, various newspaper and magazine roles, PR in private sector. I was going be working remotely as director of communications for a Christian firm in Nevada, however, I decided against it. So, I'm job hunting at this time.
Over the years, I lived fast and I must admit a bit loose, until I married the first time at about age 34. Great guy, a Bodega Bay fisherman and community leader. Just didn't work out in the end. Three years later met my current husband of 21 years, Alex DiCicco, forme...Expand for more
r Navy, retired. Love of my life. We have two beautiful daughters, Anne Marie, 20, and Danielle, 18. Yes, I got a later start than many on child rearing.
One of the most significant events in my life, besides marrying Alex on the top of Mt. Tam overlooking the Pacific, and raising my daughters, was accepting Christ as my Lord at about age 45. It was/is life transforming. I'd love to share with anyone who wants to hear. The hole I kept trying to fill for all those years was finally filled with the right stuff.
I currently live in Dallas, OR, about 14 miles west of Salem, the state capital. Nice, small community. Finally connected with a great local church. Have been here nearly four years.
My memory isn't as sharp as it once was, but I'd love to reconnect. Quite frankly, I don't remember some of you who have visited my profile. Refresh my memory! I'm not trying to be a snob.
