Eileen's Story
After graduating from UCR I taught in Moreno Valley for ten years and then in Danbury, CT. for another 3. I have lived in Naperville,IL for the past 32 years. Before that it was Danbury for 5 years. The travels all started when I married Ed, a USAF pilot, in 1977. We were out of the service and with American Airlines, based in New York, by 1978. My twins were born in 1981 and then my third daughter in 1985 in Illinois.I became a stay at home mom in the Chicago suburbs. I ran two girl scout troops and taught drawing and cartooning at the park districts and after school programs. I spent hours watching soccer matches and swim meets for my girls. I was lucky to have a good group of friends.
My girls are all married and settled now. I am grandmother to 8 grandchildren (the oldest 2 are boys 6 years old. One to each of my twins). My daughter Kristen runs 19 pharmacies in the Des Moines, IA area. She got her PharmD and MBA from Drake . My other twin, Jenny graduated in business from Univ. of Iowa but went for the MEd program at Benedictine U. She taught sciencel in Raleigh, then on to Iowa, and she is now living in Parker, Co. with three of my grandson. My youngest, Laura, is a lawyer in Indiana, and just b...Expand for more

Ed died in a plane crash Memorial Day weekend 2003 so I have been widowed for quite awhile now. He was an AA chief pilot in Chicago for 7 years before he died. He flew international and we got to travel a lot but it's harder to do now that I am by myself. To keep busy I went back to work for 6 years teaching in Project Leap, a supplementary reading program. I am retired again and spend my time flying between states to see my grandchildren.
I get to Riverside at least once a year. My sister Barbara still lives there (Ramona 1967). We took a long trip to China and Tibet the fall of 2008. I have been all over Europe and loved my trip to Edinborough. Rome was my favorite city. I love to travel, like to play bridge, am learning to quilt and have a Yorkie to keep me company. I enjoy taking the train into Chicago for sports, plays, museums and cruises on the Chicago Rivers with friends. It's a great town to walk around.
I have been spending the last 5 winters in Lake Havasu, Ariz. and love it there. Am thinking about selling my place in Illinois and moving there most of the year. I spent a lot of time in Canada the past summers and loved it there also.
