Eileen's Story
Let's see...my folks moved away from Doylestown in 1979. I lived with Amy Rae for almost a month--she was so kind to have me--and then moved to Center Valley, PA. I started college in Nashville, TN that year in the fall and in 1981 did a year abroad in Bavaria Germany (I was studying foreign languages and history and the university had 3 options Leningrad (pass), somewhere crappy in Spain (pass) and Regensburg, Germany (Jawohl!). I met my husband who was working there at the university and we got engaged--never was on the radar. I returned to the States and finished college then applied for Grad School at Penn State and came back to PA. My husband joined me there and we both were teachers while we got our degree. It was so great to be back home and visit on weekends and holidays with my family outside Bethlehem/Allentown. a cigarette-smoking Sergeant. Two hours later some AF Captain from Harrisburg was in the room with me showing me pictures from his career and his family and I signed papers to go to Officer Training School. 7 years later, I got out of active duty and joint the reserves and got a job in Washington, D.C. We bought our home in Manassas, Virginia in the 90s and moved around the US and Europe and I did business on probably 60 of the however many countries there are out there on the planet. I work in Aerospace...my husband would say I live in outerspace sometimes. He does love me. We have one surviving daughter, two excellent pups, and celebrate 35 years together this year. I've run into Suzanne Craine (Dulles international airport), Ed Rothenheber, Lynne Miller, LeAnn Claycombe Collins, Kevin Murray, Alex Crantz over the years in very odd places as we passed through the military and other jobs. It was cool seeing them. Looking forward to seeing you in October.
