Eileen's Story
Life
After I graduated high school, I left Sonoma as fast as I could...but only to Santa Rosa where I attended the JC for a while. I lost interest, fell in love and dropped out. That relationship didn't last long, but it forced me to change & to look at who I was. So, I changed (cut my hair off, colored it red, dressed differently, etc) and became a slightly wild party girl who hung out at the Daily Planet dance club all the time (with Shauna Erps of course!). It was some of the best times of my life - I loved every minute of it. Met a man there, and ended up having a 5 year relationship with him. He & I lived in So. Cal for a year and then I found he'd cheated on me repeatedly. Took me a while to disentangle myself from him, but about 6 months after the ordeal of actually leaving him, I met the love of my life at our mutual workplace (where we'd both just started). Now, I've been married to him (Dan) for 7 1/2 years (and with him for 9 1/2) and couldn't be happier. I've got a tame life these days, complete with 3 kitties who are our 'kids' (2 of which we adopted when we lived in North Carolina a couple of years ago). While we don't have children nor do we plan on having any, I do get my baby fix with my 9 month old nephew to whom I'm like a second mom. I get all the benefits of having a baby love me but then I get to send him home and get some sleep myself!

e best of friends (we've been best friends since the age of 7 - some people know this and some don't). We talk on the phone all the time and see each other a couple of times a month. While she's still the closest person to me, my circle of friends have broadened over the years. I have 2 other best friends in my life, one of whom was my next door neighbor in North Carolina and the other is my sister-in-law.
While I do have regular hobbies, like reading, movies, traveling and all that, a passion of mine that's always been apparent has been cats. My husband always says that he prevented me from becoming the 'crazy cat lady' because I would have a ton of cats if I could. So, I channel that energy in to my position as an Adoption Counselor for Forgotten Felines of Sonoma Co. at the RP Animal Shelter. I get the privelege of adopting out cats & kittens to their forever homes (hopefully it's forever). I volunteer twice a month and it's pretty satisfying to be able to do this. These animals are so majestic and I love them so much, it's truly the least I could do. Otherwise I'd be forced to break a law and adopt them all myself! Just kidding, 'cause my hubby would not be happy!
Well, I guess that's it in a nutshell. Sounds a little boring when I read back through, but really it's not. I don't always enjoy every minute of my life, but I'd say I do about 98% of time. Those are some good odds. Wouldn't change it for the world...
