After leaving high school I registered for classes at Portland State and found a job if you want to call running an elevator at Lipmans a job. I spent two of the most miserable years of my life standing in a shoe box in a black dress, high heeled shoes, and little white gloves. Small wonder I didn't go completely wacko. However there were moments on the job that saved my sanity. There was an express button that blocked stopping on floors and would shoot you straight down eight floors. Sometimes I would close the doors and hit the express key and scream at the top of my lungs till I hit the bottom. It bacame apparent to the other girls to do the same thing and it absolutely terrified the passengers when they heard the sound. If I had a car full of people they would totally freak out and start asking what was happening. I'd just look at them totally dumfounded and say I didn't hear a thing. To be continued.
