Elaine's Story
Wow! Time has really flown by.....almost 40 years, since we graduated from High School😲with lots of ups and downs, twists and turns; and yet, The Lord has seen us through them all💗Our 4 kids are grown; working and trying to find “The One”.....The “RIGHT” one. We are pretty much empty nesters now; just enjoying life💗traveling and watching over our parents; the circle of life🤔Our granddaughter, Zoey, is about to turn 10 yrs. old. She’s our only grandchild, at the present. I’m still active, playing tennis and doing other activities that I enjoy. I live with more intention now. Approaching 60; life is slowing down, but that’s okay. I’m just thankful for each day and just trying to be a light, in this dark world we live in. It’s so hard to believe how drastically things have changed, since the time we were in High School. We made it; and our children will make it, with our love, guidance and prayers. God is good and watches over His Children, as we Believe and Trust In Him💗 It’s more important now, than ever before💕
For all of you who were at the Class of 1980, 25th Year Reunion...it was so good to see all of you again. I had a blast and wished I could have chatted with some of you more. Sorry we couldn't attend the Family Picnic on the following Sunday.
Thank The Lord, He protected us and we made it through hurricane Ike!!! We...Expand for more
are about an hour away from Galveston - going northwest...it was kind of scary...but thankfully, we only lost a few shingles off our roof, a few big tree branches, and one huge tree, wayyy in the back yard (roots and all). We were out of power for 10 days...and I tell ya - we learned some very creative survival skills...a very eye opening and educational experience...in good ways. We have since purchased a home generator.:)
So, we had a generator this time, when Harvey happened, and we were so thankful and fortunate we didn’t get really bad flooding in our area. I have friends, whose homes were flooded. It took them months, to get their lives and homes back in order. All is well now.
I pray you all are safe and well. God bless and keep you all.
Love, Elaine
College
I began studying at Mills College Fall of 1980. I started out majoring in Computer Science. I decided to switch my major over to Business Administration & Legal Processes, because I realized I liked working with people more than I did, computers.
My boyfriend, at the time was working in Houston, Texas.
We got tired of being apart, so I made the decision to leave college at the end of my Junior year and we got married the summer of 1983. I packed my bags and flew to Texas and have lived in Texas ever since.
We are pretty much empty nesters now....and enjoying life💗
