Elaine Miller:  

High school seems like eons away. After graduating, I started Samford Univeristy the next day. I met my husband my senior year, and we got married in March, 1970. My degree is in journalism, and I worked as a reporter for the Birmingham Post-Herald until our first daughter was born in June, 1972. I stayed home with her, doing freelance writing from home, until she started school. Then, I worked as a features writer for Birmingham Magazine for two years, and went back to the Post-Herald. I worked on the copy desk, then became food editor and features writer. I "retired" in 1982 when our second daughter was born.
