Elaine's Story
I thought I was ugly and my Mom dressed me funny. Then I realized that I could bloom where I was planted, and flourished into an inquiring mind that cultivates curiosity and creativity.
When I am busiest, I pick up one or two novels and read them simultaneously.
From my two children, I have learned to question authority. Of course, that is so frustrating when it is 'my authority' that is being questioned; but in general, it seems that I have learned to be too 'trusting' and not done enough thinking for myself. -Especially NEVER trust any elected or appointed official!
I would be very satisfied seeing any of my instructors, as they have all taught me valuable lessons -even those that awarded me the horrible grades that I earned -I say thank you for being persons of integrity!
My first crush? Yikes... I see him...Expand for more
on Facebook -oh many years have passed since First Grade, you know! He has very young children, I have adult children, and our own parents were neighbors, as well. We are still friends, and have no reason to not be friends. -All of my old crushes were such gentlemen -they did not make friends based on superficial beauty, but rather were truly nice, gentle and kind persons, just as their parents had taught them to be.
The weirdest job I ever had was probably working for the Circus one summer during College. I sold tickets and procured illegal drugs for the Marketing Department.
My first job was at home in the pasture, where I got paid one penny for each 5 complete roots -to dig up and bring in cockle-burrs, to my Father. What I remember most about it is it was back-breaking, hot and heartless work for slave wages!
