Elaine's Story
Workplace
I owned and managed 2 small corporations in Wyoming for many years. We designed, manufactured and sold hand painted shed moose antler jewelry at Antler Classics, Inc. Wyoming Classics, Inc. from a retail store in Greybull, Wyoming. We sold Wyoming gifts and jewelry and manufactured and sold 1800's historically accurate western clothing to SASS and NCOWS members and re-enactors. Under the trade name, Fire Classics, we designed and sold t shirts that commemorate specific forest fires and sold them on location and online. In 2005 I remarried and moved to the Bitterroot Valley in western Montana.I am happier than I ever dreamed I could be. I work out of my home and am enjoying the freedom that it allows. My three sons are engineers and live in other states with wives and children and now there is life after children. I have a call on my heart to Kenya to the Massai people and expect to see what God will do with that in the future. Our missionary friends there have a Bible school to teach native pastors and are building a hospital. I feel the call to go and help the women set up some cottage industry to support their families and will be helping sell their batik fabrics and lovely beading on the mission website. Our efforts will also involve teaching the women some machine sewing skills on non electric machines. I do not see God leading me to move there, but rather to go back and forth as the need arises. My life if nothing like I expected but more than I ever dreamed for.
My husband, Loren, and I are enjoying taking my clothing creations and accessories to various events and shows and selling them to our customers. It is great fun and we have met the most interesting people. Our online business continues to grow in scope and quality and is a long time dot com having been started in 1998 and having s...Expand for more
urvived the dotcom craze that saw most of them disappear.
I am currently raising and training a really high powered German Shepherd pup named Luke. My goal is to put a Shutzhund title on him or maybe 2 or 3. He is a natural tracker and quite a handful to work with. At 6 months he is over 70 pounds already and solid as a rock. I used to have 2 Arabian horses. I showed the gelding. In 1989 I broke my neck in a car wreck and had to give up the riding but kept both horses until they aged and died as pasture buddies. I have been blessed with 6 grandchildren so far. I guess my greatest accomplishment is the 3 sons I was blessed to raise and their families and knowing that they are a contribution to the world.
I enjoy my life in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana and all the beauty and freedom around me here. It is like no place on earth. As much as I loved my 30 some years in WYoming, I have to admit that this place is ALL of that and MORE! I get to design and make beautiful 1800's clothing and ship it all over the world. I live in the mountains with all that comes with it and have the most amazing and loving of husbands to share it with. It just doesn't get better than this.
I think our Nixon School class of 64 "little prom" at the Hermosa Park house was my favorite memory of elementary and my favorite party of all time. My last really cool event with my grade school friends. High school was never that good, ever!
My first job was at Commonwealth Edison, where I got paid $3.45/hour to help make electric bills. What I remember most about it is it was boring but I got MANY promotions and ended up making more per year than most of my college educated friends..
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Orlando Aguilar, because he was my first boyfriend and taught me how it felt to be a lady..
