After high school I got my BA from WWU, managed stores in Lacey, Port Angeles, and Renton for a national retail fabric chain, then was Asst Mgr of the Student Accounts Office at Univ of Puget Sound.
Now my family/our kids are my life. I married Tim in 1985. We feel VERY blessed to have the family and life that we do. We homeschool, and our latest family project is building our own house that I designed. I've drawn houseplans since I was 10 and always loved architecture and woodworking projects, Tim teaches home construction and cabinet-making, and the kids have learned/inherited his skills, so we make a great team. work can be hard and long, but there's lots of laughing and fun mixed in. It's the coolest thing we've ever done. We should be in it sometime in Jan '08...OK, maybe February...
Update: We just barely made February. We passed our final inspection Feb. 26. We are in the house, but that's not to say we're finished. Lots of window trim and cabinets left to install...so lots of boxes with stuff waiting for their right places. Now that we have the final, though, it may be more difficult to motivate my crew to keep working so hard...So it may be while...
July 2009 update: 15 months in the house and we're finally doing window trim, and are still working away at built-in storage. I have a greenhouse started. My gardens could be doing better, but I'm not really an expert at such things...yet, anyway!
The kids are doing well. Growing too fast!
