Elaine's Story
I married soon after graduating. We went to the other side of this USA. We did not make a go of it that time. after a couple of years and a person of interest or two, we tried again. After two years we let it go again. there was a special someone that shared my life and we created my daughter. When she was 2 we parted ways. When she was 4 I met and married another. After two years of difficulty we split. I then steadied with my last partner for 19 years before we then married.we spent 13 more years togrther enjoying fishing ,hunting, camping, gardening and many more things. He put up with my raising chihuahuas,of which I still have four. I work full time, own (am attempting to pay for) two houses in two different locations. The one I don't live in at the moment is 5 acres,85 miles away and has 7 cows in the pasture.I just thought I might touch base with a few old classmates and see how they have done. I am now downsizing. Only have two chihuahuas left. My husband passed in jan. of 08. I am now beginning to make some changes to move on. I guess joining this site is a part of that. k to washington. same guy, second time around, we went to north carolina with the marine corp. got to take a trip to D.C. from there and see the sites of monuments. that try at the marriage didn't work either, so,that ended there. my daughter was born in michigan, after a short stay in indiana. the trip from there was harrowing. We drove accross the country, to return to the west coast. We were in a bad auto accident in eastern oregon. after six months, we moved back to washington. In 1975,I met my second hubby. Bad luck on my part I guess. That lasted two years too. Am I getting too detailed? Met my final hubby, although we did not marry for many years,we did start a small engine repair buisiness, and i sharpened saws, for ten years. He retired from truck driving and we bought property and home, south of olympia. I have continued to work in buckley for the past 16 years. we did'nt get to retire together but we did hunt in canada, and drive to the arctic circle, and experience many other great times together. I now enjoy the wonderfull family of inlaws he left me, as well as my own. I now have to figure out how to make a life for me. I have no idea how to get back out there and be someone on my own. I am working on it though!
