Elaine's Story
It's been a busy, interesting, surprising 46 years since graduation! I went to work as a secretary for the new branch of the FBI in Albany, went to nite school at Union College for Fortran programming - then was hired at WRGB-WGY-WGFM TV/Radio to program the first automated switch by a TV station in the US... it was wild working in radio/tv - you do it all! From computer programming the TV station, to suddenly writing radio scripts, then doing TV directing/writing, then voicing radio/TV tags.
I met head TV engineer, Gary Chase ( former USNavy underwater diver) - we were married in 1969 and had two children - daughter, Marlayna & a son, Marc...now have 3 grandchildren! Our daughter is a school teacher (now home with her own kids) our son, became a federal agent (attached to the CIA, then borrowed by the FBI for computers, then borrowed by the Secret Service to guard VP Cheney on occasions) & now does cyber security for the US Senate.
I stated writing for radio/TV/advertising which led me to actually work on the pilot episode of Saturday Nite Live - lasted a whole week - tough being the boring one not on drugs or alcohol...but loved my stint in NYC.
Started writing fiction - and had my first novel published in 1979 - been writing ever since..along with teaching creative writing at Colleges & Universities in US & Canada as we moved around the coun...Expand for more

Hubby moved from WRGB-TV as an engineer to Chief Engineer at WESH -TV in Daytona Beach (loved it), then went on to NASA in Houston as Space Shuttle flight controller then we moved to Fairfax, VA where Gary created the LN21 chip that does closed captioning & now SAP in TV sets...then he went on to work as a contractor for the CIA (dinner conversations between he & son Marc were always aimed at: "if we tell you what we do, we'll have to kill you." - so I never asked!" - he finished his career a few years ago by designing the new Southern Command in Miami, Fl.
Luckily, writing is a moveable career! After being in the mainstream publishing, I am now updating and indie publishing all my books - romance, mystery, non-fiction for the eBook market. Having quite a few #1 Amazon bestsellers after all these years again & in the audiobook market as well.
I finished up teaching for 2 years at Miami-Dade University but my students would not let me go...so I teach online classes.
Currently, we live in Ashburn, VA - (both our children are in this area) was hoping to see a bit more of the world now that Gary retired but he says he's seen enough of the world traveling about for the government...hmmmmm....maybe another cruise....love doing those...but am still writing...and now host a radio show: Authors Corner...every Thursday nite on Blog Talk radio...
