Elaine's Story
Well it's been a trip so far. I married in '74 and we have 4 kids. Our oldest was our foster child, whom we adopted. He is 7 years older than the first of our biological kids. Rick the oldest is married. The two middle boys are still looking and our youngest, Cat is marrying a great guy in the summer. The boys are all through school and Cat is in her 2nd year of Veterinary school at UT Knoxville.
Tom and I have lived in Japan and Singapore over the last 20 years. We lived in Hawaii for 18 months and up and down the East Coast. It is Tom's work that keeps us moving. I have taught in International schools and in the US for part of the time and worked as a...Expand for more
counselor in Singapore doing educational testing. Most of my teaching career was spent working with dyslexic and ADHD kids.
We currently spend half our time in Tokyo and recently bought a place in St. Petersburg, FL. I am hoping the Florida house will be the retirement home, but we tend to get restless. We love the new house, it's on a waterway. We plan to buy a boat, once we are in Florida more regularly.
I am really enjoying the traveling I am doing with Tom. many of my friends from Tokyo are still around, but I would really like to have more time in Florida, since we just moved there and have spent less then 3 weeks there since we closed in August!
