Eldine's Story
Life
Born in a land before time, attended school with the outsiders, graduated with a fist full of dollars (monopoly money), attended college where there were hurricanes, taught school with dangerous minds, and now work for the good the bad and the ugly aka the federal government. Married for almost 45 years, believe it or not, to the same fellow. I had two beautiful girls. Who said a sows ear can't make silk purses. Life has been a tip toe through the tulips (of course you need fertilizer to grow tulips).
School
I attended the same little school (James Russell Lowell) all the way from first through nineth grade. My nineth grade class had fifty six great students. none of whom were in my classes. Yes, it was culture shock at its finest. I was a roper and then a hurricane. Finally graduated as a Redman even though I was always an Indian.
Work
Started my work life where I had to Git n Go. Moved on to hawking real estate soaring with eagles but selling turkeys. Taught school where I had a Rougher time. I had the sweat hogs my first year. I called it my trial by fire. Good staff great students. I left there and became an untouchable sort of. I am in charge of hazardous waste. I oversee cleanup at superfund sites across Indian country. Always wanted to see places like Tuba City, Arizona and Elem California. like the song said, I been everywhere man. Looks like Kotzebue, Alaska maybe on the agenda next or maybe back to Ft. Hall Idaho. What a world traveler I am.
