Back in high school I was the long dark haired, skinny, tall ( though not as tall as Corey Shanks ) female jock who lived to play sports, and that alone. Badminton, volleyball, cross country, field hockey, basketball, track and field... I loved them all and I played them all. Unfortunately I didn't focus too hard on school and although I managed to squeak by in grade 12 and graduate, I missed out on a lot of opportunities like scholarships. After high school, I floundered around for a couple years playing club volleyball, softball and partying a lot. I don't know exactly why, maybe it was because I had an uncle who worked in the finance office there, but I eventually applied for a part-time job at St.Boniface Hospital and it changed my life... I started out in central supply... I'm talking major grunt work here...like picking bone chips out of the saws used in the operating room and cleaning blood out of hoses. Most people would have been turned right off...But I was intrigued... and the old career path started to evolve.....Expand for more
