Eleanor's Story
Life
I'm in the Oaklawn area of Dallas right now...back in the city where I started. I went from Dallas to Van, TX to Houston to Tyler to Delray Beach, FL and now I'm back in Dallas and glad to be home. I've got an adorable roommate named Lily (miniature dachshund) who is my true joy, and I work full-time and am a professional artist or sorts. I also do a lot with the Dallas Derby Devils female roller derby league. Life's pretty stable now that I finally FINALLY cut the apron strings...about time, too. :)
School
I can't say that there was anything I'd go back and do again in school, but my inability to leave anything blank is at stake, so memories, crushes, etc.? Hmmm...my biggest crush was...hmm...a secret. Of course, I never dated, but it's probably best looking back. Um, my fondest memories were of All-State choir try-outs, solo & ensemble, PRIDE trips (...Expand for more
with the exception of tearing a ligament in my ankle ice-skating), UIL lit crit, and shotputting. And One-Act Play senior year.
College
College...college was a time for learning about me. And at times spreading my wings only to land with a distinct thud. The grand things that I look back on fondly are voice major parties, college theater, IV, Canterbury, the Flying Saucer and Byzantium. Also...I was blessed with learning to write during those four years.
Workplace
Well, I work for Starbucks. And unlike most people I chose to work for Starbucks because of its environmentally-friendly and socio-economically responsible take on things. The perk is that it's a great company to work for, and while it's still a job in the service industry where people can get tiresome, I don't regret my job at all which is certainly different from past work experiences I've had.
