Elisa's Story
School
My elementary school years were all about learning to read/write and speak English which I later excelled at. My greatest sadness was due to my family constantly moving to different neighborhoods every other year which made it hard to build long-term friendships and the fact that I was more on the shy side made it hard. I did go to elementary and Jr. high with my two older brothers, Mario & Miguel who made my life easier and protected me from bullies..Jr. High was a time of change both mentally and physically but I started liking boys which was a cause of concern to my protective parents who became overly restrictive and warned me to stay away from bad boys ;-) High School? was an adventure and an even greater challenge but I learned to be more confident and I graduated! My next job was in manufacturing and in the line of Human Resources where I've found the most challenge and satisfaction and the opportunity to help groups of minorities that are often discriminated against....
