Elissa's Story
Life
As expected, Andy and I married in 1987, and have enjoyed a very happy life together. Our first child, Stephanie was born in 1994, Caitlyn followed in 1997. I am an at home Mom now, currently working as a Teacher's Aide for the Leominster School system, and I am also part owner of 2 software development companies. I have been writing school newsletters for the last 5 yrs, and enjoy helping out at the kids' schools on a weekly basis.
Our home is filled with the noises of one dog, 2 hamsters, a couple of fish tanks and 4 exotic birds. I never figured myself for a bird person, but once I got into it, it just came naturally. I've even brought them to school on occasion to educate the children on rainforest destruction and responsible pet ownership...it's really fun!
UPDATE:
Here it is, the year 2008..and not much has changed. I've been dabbling in photography and have had some of my stuff actually published. Koko, my macaw was featured as a 'cover bi...Expand for more
rd' on an issue of a pet supply mail order company, and most recently you can find his photo on the PBS/Nature website as a photo contest winner. No professional cameras here, just my good ole Canon A710 IS set on auto!
Still living in Leominster, our eyes are now on the prize of soon moving OUT and to the Cape, where my true sanity lies. Won't happen until the girls graduate High School, but just knowing that sometime in the future I'll be enjoying my coffee every morning overlooking the waters of Lewis Bay keeps me sane.
Substitute teaching is still a passion, and it's great to hear the happy voices of children.. 'YAY! Mrs. B is here today!. I LOVE the K to 5 kids!! What is really fun is looking at a child and asking them who their Dad or Mom is... So many of them are the SPITTING image of their parents or Aunts and Uncles.....kind of freaks them out actually when I tell them how much they look like 'so and so'.
Guess that's the news from here....
