Elizabeth's Story
Life certainly does not turn out as planned. I couldn't have written my story in 1974 in a month of creative writing classes. In 1975 I met and later married the man who turned out to be the love of my life. Turns out he was from Minnesota. Back then, I had not a clue about Minnesota. Well it turns out, people from Minnesota are particularly attached to that part of the country. I ended up in Minneapolis after graduation from Georgia State. He was a Minneapolis firefighter and during the '80's we had three daughters. I stayed at home with the girls and went to graduate school and eventually went to work as a human resour...Expand for more
ces director. Those years could only be described as "Leave it to Beaver". We were involved in school activities, took interesting trips, and watched our girls grow. Unfortunately, just as the last graduated from high school, Bill died unexpectedly and my world changed overnight. Plans that we had made no longer held purpose.
Now as I look back, I was very fortunate to have known love as great as ours was. Many don't find that in their entire lifetimes. I am now driven to live each day to the fullest and experience as much as I can. Though it's a stale saying, life is short and you don't know if you'll be here tomorrow.
