Elizabeth's Story
I currently live in the town of Danville (eastbay) which is approx. an hour from San Francisco. I moved to Northern Ca. in September, 1999. I love it up here. I work for a police department as animal control officer. If you watch animal cops on animal planet then you kind of get an idea of what I do.
I got married on May 27, 2006. We have a chihuahua named Twinkie, a mini dachshund named Molly and a cat Max.
Our daughter Nayeli Faith was born on October 22, 2008. Nayeli came home after being in the NICU for 23 days. On June 4, 2008 at my 18 week ultrasound Nayeli was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (commonly known as CDH) is an opening in th...Expand for more
e diaphragm (The dome-shaped muscle that seperates the chest cavity from the abdomen.) The hole allows the abdominal organs to push into the chest cavity. CDH is a life-threatening birth defect because it limits the growth of the lungs and pushes the heart to the side.
CDH occurs in every 1-2000 live births in the United States. Approximately 1,800 babies are born each year with CDH. Approximately 50% of all babies born with CDH die. CDH happens just as often as Spina Bifida and Cystic Fibrosis yet many have never heard of CDH.

I would love to hear from any of you and what you have been up to.
