Life After high school, I spent four years studying instrumental music education at Ohio State University. Upon graduation, I started teaching music in the Harrisburg City Schools in Pennsylvania. I became engaged to my first husband during that year. We left PA and got married in Ohio. We lived one year in McConnelsville,Ohio, then moved to Sandusky, Ohio, for another year. We divorced in September of 1989. I worked in the Blanchester Local Schools (Ohio) for two years as a music teacher and assistant band director. In the fall of 1991, I went to Indiana University and obtained my master's degree in library science in 1992. Soon afterwards, I started working at the Clark County Public Library as a children's librarian in August of 1992. In November of 1995 I had a daughter and eventually married her father.
