Ella's Story
After leaving Munich, I went to Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa, majoring in philosophy. In 1966, I attended the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research , NY, NY, in philosophy. Finished all but a dissertation for a PH D in Philosophy and then realized it would be really hard to make a living in that field, however much I loved it. While at the New School in New York, I met my husband, Romir Chatterjee, who was studying economics. (He finished his PHD and worked for most of his career as a development economist with a focus on energy problems in developing countries.) We celebrated our 48th anniversary this year! We have two children--Leah and Ravi-- and the whole family moved to Bend Oregon last year--a magical place in Central Oregon on the eastern side of the Cascade mountain range..
