Ellen's Story

Life I am currently a resource specialist in Thousand Oaks...I work with kids at the middle school level. My own kids are grown and doing well. My husband retired and I am trying to decide when to retire and join him with a less demanding schedule. We have three dogs--two Samoyeds and a Golden retriever. Also, we have two cats. One is inherited from my daughter and the other is definitely my cat. I have many hobbies, but the most enjoyable one is reading. My husband and I went to many local plays while I was home for the summer break. They were all musicals, and we saw some great productions around L.A. E mail me..I always enjoy contacting people I knew in the past. School I moved to LA right before high school, after growing up in San Francisco and having a big circle of friends. So LAHS was a good experience, but I only started really getting to know people in my senior year. I did have a few close friends, but they aren't on the list...Miriam Hesslein passed away several years ago...what a shock. Someone my age having a stroke! After high school, I went to UCLA, joined a sorority and had a very good time! Then, in my Junior year, I transferred to UCB...Expand for more
erkeley, and absolutely loved that campus. I met my husband there..he had just started law school. We moved to Ventura upon graduation,my husband just retired from the DA's office where he was a trial attorney. After my three children were in school, I returned to teaching (took some years off when they were babies) and am now teaching special ed..I'm a resource specialist in thousand oaks. I've been doing this for quite awhile, plan to retire in about two years. I have lots of interests: reading, computers, gardening, music. My husband is interested in operettas, and we often attend groups that have the same interests. For my San Francisco connections, I remember so much about West Portal and Aptos. Ironically, a teacher at my school went to Aptos at about the same time, but I didn't know her then. I did start 9th grade at Lowell, but moved at mid semester. I remember many people on the '61 Lowell list though, since most of them were in my sunday school class for years and years! Most of my elementary school friends went to Lincoln, and I remember many of them who are on the list, and intend to contact them soon. E mail me if you remember me...I'd love to hear from you!
