Ellen's Story

Life I have lived a very full life. I've been going at it double time, like I afraid I'll miss something. I spent 8 years in the Air Force, and 10 years in college. I was working on computers in high school. For you young people, let me explain this: the computer was the size of a professional refrigerate, and the floors had to be re-inforced because of the weight. These are the computers you see on a late-night sci-fi flick. When I was about 21, I bought a camera. That had become an extention to my hand. Since then I've "let my fingers do the talking," as I travelled around the world. My son was born in Miami, after I had spent several months in Japan. My husband had PTSS after Viet-nam, and we'll let it go at that. I wanted my son to experience it all. We travelled extensively. Every year we did something different, horse back riding, skiing, scuba diving, fishing, house painting. He became a Eagle Scout at 13! He recieved the Bronze Congressional Award at 16! He was nominated (congressional) to West Point at 18! Am I proud of him? YES! He is the high point of my life. Later my photos have hung in the Meyerson, Samon's Art Center and Garland Civic Center all in or around Dallas, Texas, and they have been printed in some Dallas Publications. Sometime in the 80's, I thought it would be neat (we talked like that then), to connect the camera to the computer. That didn't work out as well as I thought, because it hadn't been invented yet. But that led me to the Video camera. Shortly after that an old passion flamed up again, and I put music and the computer together. And it was orgiastic - well, not really, it just sounded that way, and that led me to TV. My son, Ryan and I producted a TV show "All That Jazz," for about 5 years. In 1994, I had a car accident, with a serious brain injury. In 2000, I returned to work. I had never really though about it, but as part of my rehab, I was tested and became a member of Mensa. I found that more important, and somewhat reassuring after the injury. I have amnesia, and I am putting it together. If you know me, drop me a line, tell me a story. Thank you. I live with my son, and a cat. Ryan will be getting married in a few months. Between us, we have a yellow Frontier, and a little blue Mini Cooper. College school - college years. I'm still trying to remember these. I don't have enough photographs of this time period. I have run into old friends. One of the colleges I attented was the University of the Philippines in Tarlac, a mountainous community on the island of Luzon. I had to travel by bus and transfer to a calisa, a small...Expand for more
bicycle version of the ricksha. The classes were small, about 4 to 12 people in a class, and half the spoken words in class were Tagalog. When the weather was good, we frequently had classes on the lawn. Workplace I spent almost my entire adult life in the Operating Room. Surgery has always been relaxing and second nature to me. I began to live a double life, by day I was in the OR, and by night I was in the theater. I was a techie. I travelled over half the world, while I was in the military in the 60's and 70's. I travelled about the States in the 70's and 80's. In the 80's I started learning about the theater and sound. In the 90's I directed and produced a TV show in Dallas, Texas. I became the offical photographer of the theaters in Dallas by accident. When the show I was doing ended, one of the actors was starting "Man dela Mancha" and asked if I would snap a few pix, I did. We went to a party, and the pictures got passed around. Than I heard, "Wait a minute. That's my play." The director was looking at my pix, and he was amazed. I was hired - right there at the party. See pix in my photo section, both Garland Civic Theater and Soundtrax. Suddenly, I was the new hot property. I was photographing some people, and they asked if I could record a concert for them. I did. It was good. It was on TV. I became a TV producer. I received three Crystal Awards for this work. It's not as easy as it sounds, first you have to know something, than you have to know someone. But mostly, you HAVE TO love it. This continued until the mid 90's when I had an auto accident. I spent 7 years in rehab. I lived in absolute poverty, mostly on the brink of homelessness. I worked everyday to relearn to walk and talk and to regain memory and words. Everyday I travelled 3 miles to the VA Hospital for rehab. Everyday I said I will work in the Operating Room again. Nobody believed this. My doctors were trying to help me realize I was never going back. They would say, "Well, on a day like today, aren't you glad you don't have to go to work?" Pure determination and stubborness, I relearned how to walk and talk. My gait is fairly good and now my studdering is mostly because I can't find the words. I went back to work a few years ago. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Not because of the work, that always came easy for me, but because of the attitudes I face everyday, and the problems the VA has since caused. A few months ago, I was nominated for "Who's Who In American Women, 2007." I'm told about 40,000 women are chosen/nominated and about half of those go into the Who's Who book.

Re-post from: Timothy R. Crowe I'm going say this once again:
The average American ($50,000 income) pays about $36 a year in their taxes for the entire welfare and food stamp program. That's about 10 cents a day. Of the 12
One more please - Break out news medias. If all the news is coming from the same source, it will be harder to find the truth. Bernie was against the Time merger, this needs to continue.

I just found this new disease that covers many of my symptoms. They say there is no cure, and it only gets worse. It is highly contagious.

Happy Father's Day, Dad. I miss you every day.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. All three branches are controlled by the GOP. This was not imagined by our founding fathers that all three branches would at the same time fleece the American public.
