Ellen's Story

Life oops..I think I wrote my announcement in the wrong place..oh well, you might as well know I'm a confused klutz..I blame it on early onset menopause that has baffled the medical community since it started in grade school and still plagues me. I recently moved back to my hometown..after spending 20+ years in the SF Bay Area..East Bay for those who know. I moved there after college..did the bohemian lifestyle for awhile..but I had this ridiculous addiction for 3 square meals a day :) silly me...Though I did apply for the position of "famous artist", the job was already taken...so I filled my time with a career that paid the bills...later met my husband...then couldn't find a decent house for under 1/2 million :( So John (my "boy-toy" husband)and I decided to leave and buy my Dad's house...OH MY GOD!! I WAS GOING BACK HOME!!! ...sorry these panic attacks don't last too long...just put a stick in my mouth so I won't bite my tongue. It's been a year now...would you believe it..my husband ...Expand for more
loves the small town atmosphere; no traffic, rude people in long lines, having to get onto a freeway to go to the grocery store, and gang members doing "donuts" on our street after a concert. To be truthful I like it too...but there are times I miss the art galleries, quirky shops, "Sea Breeze" deli (for the freshest crab sandwiches), Pt. Isabelle (before Lacy Peterson made it infamous),"Nation's" open 24/7..with endless cups of coffee, pies, burgers, and breakfast...and seeing "Spock" shopping on 4th Street. I had to retire early for health reasons though I like to tell people it's because of all the "drugs, sex, and rock n' roll" :) But it does leave me in a bit of a bind...I'm gratefull that I have been biten by the beadbug, but now what to do with all the jewelry?? I'm so glad I found this site..I'm looking for creative people to talk about "everything"...how they get through the day?, their choices in art/craft disciplines, helpful business advice and connections...life in general.
