Ellen's Story

I am happily married to John going on 27 years. My son Ed from my first marriage is an architect living in New Orleans with his wife Jen, (who ran the chicago marathan a few years ago) and his 13 daughter. They were part of the Katrina flood, but that's another story. I worked in the non profit arena writing competitive grants for about 10 years and then joined a start up staffing firm and have been in business development and staffing ever since. I enjoy the work. I play tennis once or twice a week for the pure joy of the game. I sure would like to serve a tennis ball to good old Mr. Hanagan, or even Gary Oroz....remember...no girls were allowed ...Expand for more
to join the tennis team in those days. We certainly have come along way. My grandaughter plays the drums and plays soccer and her future career options are plentiful. Thank those revolutionary 70s.... My best friends are Barbara Asteger and Linda Enright, both amazing woman, who have both become like sisters to me. We have shared the births of our children, divorce, remarriage, the loss of our parents and the joy of grandchildren. We also shared in Barbara's loss of her beloved husband, Fred, who was so dear to all of us. Every time we see Barb's grandson, we see Fred in his smile, as it should be. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
