Ellen's Story
Life
After graduation, I met my first husband, Bryce DeLoach. We married in 1973 and had a son, Alan, in 1974. We divorced in 1976 and I waited a long time to remarry in 1988 to Leif Heck from Randolph. I now have two grandsons, Stewart 5 and Alex 3. Leif and I are living in Randolph and are looking forward to retirement! I worked at Prudential for 12 years, became a programmer there and when they re-organized, I took the package in 1992. Then I worked freelancing as general office help until I went to work full-time as a purchasing agent at Elm Mfg, a cabinet manufacturer in Denville.

dsons, Stewart and Alex. Stewart is 8 years old (2010) and has autism spectrum disorder. He has communication problems but is a happy child. Alex is 6 years old and is very bright and a skilled xbox game player!
My husband, Leif, was a machinist for 35 years. Unfortunately, the economy and job market in manufacturing has put him out of his lifelong profession. He is currently employed by the town of Madison.
I have also felt the economic down-turn as the cabinet manufacturer I worked for went out of business. I have been unemployed for the last 16 months. What will come first? The jjob or retirement?
