Ellen Assante:  

I was actually a member of the class of '70 but graduated a year early in '69. I went to San Francisco State, then UC Davis. I transferred to Simmons College (Boston) in 1972 and graduated in 1975 with a degree in nursing. I married in 1981, went to grad school (MBA program) at University of New Hampshire, moved to Portland, ME. I returned to graduate school twice more, once to Simmons for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and then to Drexel University for my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree. I work at Maine Medical Center as did my now ex- husband, Stephen, a systems software specialist. I work in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and also teach undergraduate nursing students in their clinical psychiatry rotation. We adopted in 1988 and again in 1993. We have three great kids, Marc and Philip (twins) and Sarah. We live in a more rural area about 1/2 hour from Portland, ME. Our daughter was a high school and college basketball standout.
