Ellen's Story
i am a 10th grade english teacher in hanover county. divorced, have a great 16 year old son who is a nationally ranked baseball player! i have 4 cats that adore me and i like my house which is on the edge of the chickahominy swamp, so i have lots of nature and quiet. i enjoy my job and have taught mostly kids who end up on the wanted posters in the post office! :) i keep up with mary jean kelly lowe, cindy reeves mohr and tom, kathy and jim houlihan. i have traveled a great deal through the united states, and just completed a 2 year road trip in the southwest. i won an REB teaching excellence awa...Expand for more
rd in 2006 and they gave me $8000 to pursue an educational dream. so i went cross country following the route john steinbeck took in his book TRAVELS WITH CHARLEY. i took my son and best friend and we had a blast...gone 2 weeks in 2007 and 3 in 2008. am only missing 5 states to complete having been in all of the states in the u.s.
i make jewelry, write, blog, and did pottery/sculpture for a lot of years (am taking a creative break). SF and new mexico are my favorite places on earth, along with seattle. have had a lot of health issues in the last 10 years, but i am still above ground and breathing!
