Greetings and Salulations, After receiving a degree in Communications from Northwestern Uninversity's School of Speech I flew for 18 years as a Flight Attendant for Pan American Airlines.. mosly from San Francisco and Tokyo, Japan. I enjoyed learning Sumni-e (Brush Painting) first in Tokyo and later in Hong Kong. I studied Shiatsu in Tokyo in 1977 originally to be able to stay awake on night flights and to deal with jetlag. This advocation became my profession in 1982. From 1984 to 1994 I lived and worked in Hong Kong, Tibet and China: Tianjin, Beijing, QingDao and Shenzhen. I taught Flight Attendants in Tianjin; worked for the American Embassy in Beijing; was PR & Sales Manager for a joint-venture hotel in Qingdao, and later in Shenzhen. My most challenging job was at the Holiday Inn in Lhasa, Tibet where I worked for two years as Director of the Tour Department.
