Elvia's Story
After graduation, believe it or not, I ended up back in Atlanta, Georgia. I am glad that I took a teachers advice and didn't listen to my guidance counselor, or is that misguidance counselor, in High School and took all those "hard" academic courses he had advised against. I took a slight detour in my chosen path of studies, instead of studying Interior Design as I had planned, I ended up enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology, a.k.a. Georgia Tech, earning both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and am now a licensed Architect.
After bouncing around in the private sector for a few of years, due to the bad economy, I wound up once again...Expand for more
at Georgia Tech, but this time as an employee and have been working in Office of Facilities since 1988, (passed the 25 year marking on last year in October.). This put me right in the middle of all the work necessary for the 1996 Olympic and all the hustle and bustle that occurred during that time. The campus has never been the same.
On a final note, for those of you who can remember - I still have the sweater you were all so "fond" of and called my personality, and per the instruction of one of you wrote in my yearbook, and because I have never wanted short hair for myself, I have kept my hair at about the same length I had when in high school.
