Elvin's Story
Life
I have a great family, wonderful friends and a relationship with Jesus Christ! I've accomplished more than I ever intended, and I've experienced more joys than I ever expected. My best friend is my wife, Kay, who has been with me for forty-eight years.
We have been rewarded with a life of ministering together inside prisons, jails and youth authorities --- all across the United States and into foreign countries. My wife is a singer, composer and comedienne who has just completed her fifth music album, GRANDMA GOES TO PRISON --- recorded live in a men's prison in Washington!
Our greatest joy is seiing someone, inside prison or outside, change their life for the better. Through the ministry with which we are associated, JOYFUL NEWS PRISON MINISTRIES, located in San Jose, California, we offer a series of lifelines, including counseling. Mostly we offer friendship and love!
May the Lord bless you in all that you do for Him!
School
Although I worked all through Austin High School, I probably enjoyed my high school years more than most!
I wasn't a good student, but I enjoyed my friends, my work and my life! Thanks to my friends!
College

Austin, Texas. I also attended Arlington State University. I further took courses at Pacific Western University.
Workplace
The number and variety of positions I have held are an indication of my interests! I've worked for the IRS, Texas Instruments, Signetics Corporation in Silicon Valley in California. I spent a year at LTV Aerospace in the Dallas area, and I worked for an Oil and Gas exploration firm in Austin, Texas.
I have founded five corporations which have operated in three states (Three are currently in operatiion). Additionally, I have travelled with a ministry for thirty years, and I am currently producing a music album on a CD for distibution in prisons.
At present, I am also a consultant for a Silicon Valley business that is international in scope.
Military
I signed up for the Marine Reserves when I was seventeen, but was unable to fulfill my obligation due to my age. I missed the terrible tragedies of that first winter in Korea!
I enlisted in the Navy with seventeen friends the following year, and spent four years in Naval Aviation --- including a short tour on the USS Boxer, an aircraft carrier.
After leaving the Navy, I spent two years in the Air Force Reserves.
