Elvira's Story
Well if anyone will remember...
I graduated a year early (1976) due to 'unforeseen circumstances'... I delivered my baby in April '76, truly a surprise to many people!
I've worked in the healthcare industry since then... from medical assistant in private physician's practices to medical claims administration to pharmacy to nursing administration to human resources at Scripps East County and Green Hospitals... and now, I'm a Homecare Manager at San Diego Hospice at the Institute for Palliative Medicine and I love the work that we do... providing comfort for our patients through their final journey and providing support to those they love.

nd I have had over the years. My son is a 20-year cancer survivor and I am an 8-year cancer survivor. Robby is the Manager of Pediatric Programs with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and I have been a long-time ACS volunteer and currently serve on California's Youth Cancer Advocacy Committee and am a Legislative Ambassador for District 52. I am committed to helping others through their cancer journey... Robby and I successfully travelled that road, so we'll do what we can to help ease that journey for others.
The challenges I've experienced since high school have enriched my life considerably. I have been touched and supported by some incredible people and I wouldn't change it for the world!!
