Emily's Story
Life
Graduated from U of Oregon in 1981. Married with two daughters and one goofy Dobermann Pinscher. (A very lazy
hound I might add.)
My family and I currently reside in Reno where my
husband is CFO of Sierra Nevada Media, the parent company that owns all newspapers in and around Lake Tahoe,Carson City, Truckee, and a few other small towns
in Nevada.
In additon to raising the girls I am a part time background/investigations researcher.
I split my time between our home in Reno and our ranch
in western Montana. (See below)
I "farm" (kind of) 5 gorgeous acres in the Bitterroot Mountains in Corvallis, Montana! My husband and I love to travel to Europe and make frequent visits to the gorgeous Canadian Rockies with the kids! Oh Canada eh?"
Had a good career in the newspaper industry for many years working for USA Today which took me to LA, Boston, and San Diego for "stops."
However, nothing beats motherhood and peace and quiet and I feel so very fortunate to live where there are Elk, Moose (and ...Expand for more
Bears) literally at my doorstep. Air so clean and water so clean you cannot believe it!
I drive my '47 8N Ford Tractor around and raise my small crops as organically as possible. I have 18 apple trees, two pear trees, Filberts,
and Apricots which help to keep us more than fed.
Our farm is nicknamed "El Rancho See and Say" as every morning like clockwork the neighborhood Rooster, Donkey, Steers, and Horses greet the world with their signature noises!
And, yes, I love snow. My daughters and I are pretty good at hauling the old snowshoes around!
A few parting thoughts: Whatever your political stance is please support all veterans who died for the life we all currently have. Secondly,
take nothing for granted. Take care of the Earth because it takes care of us. Teach your children to recycle. Support alternative energy research. Take time to really see the natural wonders around us.
I hope that time has been kind to all. Take care and look me up if you are ever in Western Montana or Reno.
