Emily's Story
Long story short: Married from 1966 - 2000 to Dr.James G. Mitchell, musician: two daughters. He passed away in January, 2000. I lived in England with one daughter from 2000 - 2001. Then met (online) Raymond York of North Yorkshire, England.. Married to him from December 2001 - February 2012, when he passed away.Lived in the UK for three years until moving back to Blacksburg, VA in 2004 and working for VA Tech until retiring in 2010. Ohio with older daughter until moving back to Blacksburg in May of 2013.I have two grandsons. One is 19 and a junior at Ohio State. Second one is 15. Two granddaughters living near me - ages 13 and 7.
Lots of moves over the years and lots of travel. In 2001 reconnected with classmate and long time friend Julian Stevens and his wife, Rosemary Fischer (class of '61). Have been close with them ever since. We talk Mount Vernon during all our visits. Also reconnected with Tom Meeks. Good old band days!
