Emily's Story
Life
After high school, I went to the U of A - Fayetteville to study Architecture. In 1984, I graduated with a BA in Architectural Studies. I spent the next year working in a blueprinting/ architectural supply company submitting resumes and application everywhere. Landed a job in Bentonville with CEI Engineering where a started as a civil engineering draftsperson. In 1989, I moved to Central California (Fresno) to open a new branch office for CEI. In 1996, CEI began downsizing and I was a victim! The next day, a new company was created: Graphics 2 Go. I started this little home-based business with drafting services and graphics design ...Expand for more
services. It grew to include screen printing services. Unfortunately, the business has had to close due to physical exhaustion. So then, I went back to Civil Engineering Design/Drafting for a firm in Madera, CA. and worked for them for 2 years revamping their standards and drafting procedures. I sold my house and most of my possessions to travel the USA for the next 2-5 years while my partner works as a traveling nurse. I get to stay at "home" (a 35' RV and take care of the "kids" and perfect my talents in stained glass creations and work on my golf game) or pick up a part-time job to pay for my hobbies.
