Emma's Story

May 29, 2009 Wow, it's hard to believe that I turned the big 50 a couple of days ago. I feel no different than when I turned 30. I still feel like I'm waiting to grow up. 50 didn't look like this when I was a kid. I went to Chicago over the Memorial Day weekend and had a ball. This time I actually left the airport. I could move there if it wasn't so cold in the winters. I tried to do the tourist things but of course I ran out of time. I did get to go by our President's house which of course you can't get near. Went to the Navy Pier and they had fireworks just for me, well, maybe not. It was fun anyway. Ate some famous Garrett Popcorn which was okay. I don't see what the big deal is, it's popcorn. I have a couple of pics of the trip as well as a couple of birthday presents that I had to model that I have posted. I came home on Monday night and on Wednesday my official birthday I got sick. Couldn't make it to dinner with friends and had to cancellunch and happy hour today. I'm hoping this pass soon. I can't afford to be sick. Next week is my busy week and I need to be 100%. Anyway, it's been a pretty good birthday overall. Still want a GPS but who knows, maybe my fairy godmother will get it for me. --------------------------------------- Hi Guys, It's been a long time. I have been on this site for years but never ever used it until now and I am glad that I did. Although I am having difficulties remembering a lot of stuff, it's great hearing the stories. Please continue to reach out and I will do the same. ...Expand for more
I will attempt to catch you up on my life so I hope you have a little time. As some of you know, after High School I attended Northwestern State where I had a blast. It was such an amazing experience, meeting new people, hanging out and of course attending classes. I left school, ended up married and went to Okinawa, Japan where I stayed for a total of 5 years. Once I got over the initial culture shock, I loved it. I met some great friends who quickly became family. From there I went to California, Florida, Texas, back to California, Arkansas and back to Texas where I currently reside. Keller, TX which is North Ft. Worth. I have a 14 year old son who loves to keep me on my toes. His father and I divorced about 7 years ago but it's all good. My son is an avid sports fan. He plays basketball, football and soccer. He's actually pretty good at them all. He is a great student. This year he made a "B" in his pre-AP Algebra class which is totally unacceptable. I'm slowly getting over it. He is a typical teenager. He has so much potential but he doesn't apply himself. Things come too easily for him. It's hard to believe that my baby will be in High School. I still see him wobbling across the floor or holding onto his mother. I am learning to cut the string but it's difficult. I truly love my life. I recently earned my MBA, yahoo. It was long overdo but I finally did it. I work as an Accountant for a publically traded Dairy company. I love to have fun and I live each day to the fullest. God has truly blessed me.
