Equilla's Story
I left Lumpkin after high school. Come back to visit family maybe 4 times a year. Im a cosmetologist,licensed 19yrs. God fearing woman of God who have been there done that. Experience has been a great teacher for me. I am real and only like positive ppl in my life. Games.... I don't have time for them. I like to travel, just plain enjoy life. Life is what we make of it we dont have a choice in how we came about nor do we have a choice in what family we are born into, but we do have a choice in who we allow in and to stay in our life. Wisdom I just grasps. I use to worry about other people and what they thought of me. I learned that in life we can't please mankind some one will always have something negative to say. Those ppl are in our life to make our prayer life stronger. Things aren't always like it seems, complaining don't change nothing, as a matter of fact it prolongs the test. Attitude has a lot to do with the process. Keep a positive outlook and eventually that test will be over and a new one will come. t level in life. I reached a turning point in my life when, I with the power of God battled Cancer in 2007. I am a living testimony of his healing power after eight surgeries, 28 treatments, 3rd degree burns, & became a bad anemic from the treatments. Thank God, I dont look like what Ive been through. I dont have all the answers but I am striving. I do Know that I am blessed to be alive. I have heard of so many other cancer patients dying, but God has a purpose for me and sharing my story has to be a part of it. I say that because this is out of the norm for me on the internet writing. I hope this can encourages whoever has to read this. I went it to this battle thinking oh God why me but one day as I was praying a scripture was brought to my attention, Jeremiah 29:11. It told me that i will live and not die I held onto that word through it all when it looked like I was about to leave, I would pray Lord you said. I used that word. That word would strengthen me to live on. I am more than a conqueror. Do I still have issues in life, yes, but God is not through with me yet.
