Ercel's Story
Life
I entered the Marine Corps right after High School; did a tour in Vietnam, leaving the military in Nov. 1966. After the military, I returned home to Houston, Texas, and went to work for a friend of the family in Polyethylene Film Extrusion (making plastic bags). Found out that I was not cut out for that type of work, and went to work for Houston Natural Gas Corporation in Feb. 1967. After a couple of mergers and several company name changes, I managed to complete 37 years of service in the gas industry before becoming a victim of corporate downsizing in March of 2004. ntly enjoying a semi-retired status, working as needed. In my free time and on weekends, I enjoy watching TV (good war movies are always a favorite), surfing the internet or playing online poker, and being with family and close friends.
I am working on 22 years of a second marriage, no children from either marriage. My wife, Kathy, and I own a home west of Houston in a Katy, Texas zip code.
